postage: 5 things, a good old wander

have been guest posting on all things melbourne/creative for leeloo for some months now...

my latest post is up, 5 things: a good old wander

covering my pick of essential 'strolls' in melbourne town!

while i was there: another magazine

just a beautiful treatment of imagery, here, to illustrate another magazine's great expectations piece on next gen fashion designers.

you heard it here second: names to look out for include matthew harding, simone sommer and shao-yen chen.

while i was there: tim richardson

many of the stunning campaigns for the sydney dance company have been photographed by tim richardson... including the memorable mercury images. jez smith has also been behind the camera for a few: here

while i was there: non format

my next font purchase will be otto, by non format (available through HypeForType).

its a super-clever typeface, i reckon... taps into a bodoni style look with its fat/thin contrast... and has a good geometry that would easily fit into a number of layout contexts. besides that, its damn sexy!

otto offers an alternate version for many of its characters but both versions are conveniently bundled within a single font. text in lowercase appears in the light version, while capitals reveal the dark side of otto.

while i was there: frankie magazine

what a feat: frankie magazine is officially the fastest growing magazine in australia... (full story here) .

the unassuming magazine is much edgier and contemporary than most women's mags - and less patronising to boot. a pretty good read for girls in their 20s...

nice one!

while i was there: paper stone scissors

beautiful image for the life in style event, more on that campaign here

ipad: due in australia late april

are you planning to get one?
apple are calling it "magical"... my imagination is coming up with all sorts of things!

while i was there: cacharel site

i noticed this quirky flash navigation on the cacharel site.

works well, perhaps it would be even better if it was adapted for the follow-on pages throughout the site.
