lotus flower

from the amount i post about it, you'll gather that i like dance... rather a lot.

this is radiohead's lotus flower from their recent album the king of limbs... involving thom yorke performing an intense wayne mcgregor choreographed piece.

incredible. love it.

(with 12 million-plus viewers on youtube i'm reminded that it is not a new vid. please do bare with me as i'm catching my blog up a little and trying to catalogue previous finds... !)

hero: jez smith

is it possible i've not posted on jez smith before?

incredible photographer, i particularly love his images for various campaigns of the sydney dance company...

this is a long-held partnership recently celebrated through pushing for perfection, an exhibition at sydney's opera house.

left, top to bottom: image 21, image 4, image 2. more information here. choreography by rafael bonachela, photography by jez smith.

dynamic blooms

lovely imagery by showstudio's nick knight, of jac for another magazine. i guess this, with my previous post, sums up my favourite things... for now!

(via showstudio)

a few of my favourite things…

another break from blogging, something seriously stunning was required to give me the proverbial kick!

and here it is: the australian ballet's vivienne wong and calvin hannaford performing trace, a pas de deux from bodytorque.á la mode in melbourne's guildford lane.
with its dark and seemingly simple aesthetic, there is nothing here that i don't find beautiful. the video is part of a series of episodes produced by sideshow alley.

while i was there: tim richardson

many of the stunning campaigns for the sydney dance company have been photographed by tim richardson... including the memorable mercury images. jez smith has also been behind the camera for a few: here

tell noone

this is seaweed by tell noone, and although its labelled a 'low-fi video experiment', its quite unlike anything i have seen before...

beautiful!

diferente

an old favourite...
a pretty simple concept, but beautifully done i think.
